Adult Learning Scheme (Word Aid)
Word Aid, the County Kilkenny Adult Literacy Scheme, is a free, confidential service that supports adults with reading, writing, spelling or maths difficulties. 
 
Word Aid holds a tutor-training course for volunteers annually. They require volunteers to give 2 hours of their time each week, have a sympathetic and understanding nature, to be good listeners and have the ability to work with others on a confidential basis.
