Gowran and District Vintage Club
A club for anyone interested in collecting, preserving and showing artifacts from the past, including steam engines, cars, tractors, motorbikes and farm machinery. Members hold an annual rally in Dunbell, Co Kilkenny on the weekend following the August Bank Holiday. Everyone is welcome to join.
County Kilkenny Horticultural Society
A club for anyone interested in gardening and horticulture. Regular meetings take place from February to November for talks and demonstrations. During the summer months garden visits to various parts of the country are arranged. New members very welcome. Membership costs €20 per year.

Held every Thursday from early morning to early afternoon, this is the place to go to find locally produced cheeses, organic vegetables, home-baking, and a host of other goodies to tempt your palate!
Irish Aero Sports Flying Club
Specialising in flight training for the sport and recreation pilot including air experience flights, ground school, flight training and preparation for a flight test for PPL (m). Flight training available 7 days per week. Air experience and trial lessons available. A great aviation-based social atmosphere is encouraged with fly-ins, BBQs, breakfast gatherings and trips to sport aviation events throughout the year. Castlecomer Wellington Race (January 1st)
Join in the largest rubber boot race in the world over a 6.4km circuit, with hundreds of wellie-booted runners, in all sorts of attire, taking part. A great way to start the year!
Saint Patrick’s Day (March 17th)
Entertainment on the Streets of Kilkenny. Parades at various locations.
An Taisce
The Kilkenny Association of An Taisce (National Trust for Ireland) are concerned with heritage and the environment. They have regular meetings which consist of talks by invited speakers on topics such as architecture, the Tree Council and the Eco Village in Cloghjordan, Co Tipperary. These are public meetings and everyone is welcome. Occasional outings are organised.
Active Retirement Association
Active Retirement Associations aim to help retired men and women, usually over the age of 55, to lead full, happy and healthy retirements by offering organised opportunities for a wide range of activities including holidays, outings and socials, creative and learning programmes; indoor and outdoor sports and community work.
