Sonja, a qualified artist, teaches classes for beginners and more advanced. She specialised in classical techniques including oil on canvas, watercolour and pastel. Classes run in Graiguenamanagh and Kilkenny City, as well as individual classes in her home.

A free Professional Development service for artists based in the South East who are involved in dance, film, literature, music, theatre and the visual arts. There is a small charge for the one-day or evening workshops which are held in various locations around the South East and have included How to Engage in the Public Art Commissioning Process, Applying for Funding, Introduction to Self Employment for Artists, Approaching Galleries and Proposal Writing for Visual Artists.

Butler Gallery
Butler Gallery, the leading contemporary art gallery in the South East of Ireland, runs extensive education, community and outreach programmes including: Solas for children, Artist in residence in Schools programmes, as well as a wide range of debates, gallery talks and lectures.  Butler Gallery is located in the historic Kilkenny Castle and is open throughout the year offering an exciting range of national and international high profile exhibitions.  Entry is free.

Duiske College
FETAC Level 5 one/two year course in Arts, Crafts and Design. Modules include pottery, batik, drawing, design, painting, photography and hill-walking.

Grennan Mill Craft School
Two year full-time FETAC Level 5 course in Art, Craft and Design (Craft Studies). Areas covered are batik, ceramics, cultural studies, design, drawing, metal craft, printing, textile weaving, communications and work experience. The course includes a series of visiting lecturers, visits to exhibitions and field trips. Evening classes are held twice a year, in a variety of craft and art related subjects. The End of Year exhibition is held on the June bank holiday week-end.

KCAT Art and Study Centre
KCAT offer a variety of full-time or part-time courses to people with and without disabilities. Visual Art and Theatre courses include the opportunity to pursue FETAC Level 5 accreditation. Bus service available from Kilkenny and Clonmel railway station. The Centre is wheelchair accessible.
