Kilkenny Campus, NUI Maynooth offers a BA Local Studies. This is a part-time degree course including modules on local and national history, archaeology, art & architecture, maps, landscapes and the physical environment, Latin, Irish language, folklore and place-names, etc. Delivered over five years through evening lectures and tutorials, field courses and short summer schools. Open to mature students (aged 23 yrs or over by 1st January in the year of admission).  Applications from adults who have not completed second level education are welcome, and Accredited Prior Learning is considered for exemption from specific programme modules.
