Active Retirement Association         
Active Retirement Associations aim to help retired men and women, usually over the age of 55, to lead full, happy and healthy retirements by offering organised opportunities for a wide range of activities including holidays, outings and socials, creative and learning programmes; indoor and outdoor sports and community work. There is an annual insurance and affiliation fee and a nominal charge for meetings.

Age Action Ireland 
Age Action Ireland is the network on ageing and older people. Age Action promotes better policies and services for all older people and an ageing society. Its main aim is to improve the quality of life of all older people especially those who are most disadvantaged and vulnerable, by enabling them to live full, independent and satisfying lives for as long as they wish in their own homes or in appropriate accommodation. Computer classes for older people on basic internet and e-mail skills are run throughout the county.

Third Age Foundation / Senior Help Line 
Third Age Foundation is a community organisation dedicated to empowering older people through a number of local and national projects and services, life long learning and volunteering. Local projects include an Internet Café, health and information programmes, drama, choir, arts, social outings and holidays. Services include advocacy, laundry and an outreach service.
 
Senior Help Line is a national confidential listening service for older people by trained older volunteers for the price of a local call anywhere in Ireland, LoCall 1850 440 444. Senior Help Line is open each Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, 10am to 10pm, and each Sunday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, 10am to 4pm and 7pm to 10pm. Senior Help Line received over 13,000 calls in 2009.
